Three weights, one colour family

Most grey tarps come in one weight. Here you choose. 90gsm is light, cheap and easy to handle, for dust sheets, decorating, short-term and indoor covers. 180gsm is the all-rounder for garden furniture, log stores, vehicles and general outdoor covers. 260gsm is the heavy duty choice for building sites, trailers, machinery and temporary roof covers that have to cope with wind and repeated handling.

Woven HDPE with an LLDPE coating

The core is a woven high-density polyethylene fabric, which gives the tear strength. It is coated with linear low-density polyethylene, which makes it waterproof and UV resistant. The result is a sheet that keeps rain and damp off, stands up to sunlight and resists tearing when it is pulled tight over edges and corners.

Aluminium eyelets every metre, rope-reinforced edges

Rust-resistant aluminium eyelets are spaced evenly every 100cm around the edge, and the edges are reinforced with rope. That gives secure fixing points for bungees, rope or pegs and better resistance to wind, and stops the eyelets tearing out when the cover is tensioned.

Roofers and builders use the heavier weights as temporary roof covers and site covers for timber, blocks and plant. On trailers and pickups it keeps loads dry and secure. Installation, use and care

Fix the tarpaulin with bungee cords, ball bungees or rope through the eyelets, using all of them so the load is spread evenly. We do not recommend rigid fixings such as cable ties or metal hooks, as they strain individual eyelets. Tension the cover so it does not flap in the wind and keep it off sharp edges. To clean it, brush off debris or rinse and gently hand wash, then let it dry before folding it away.
