Flame Retardant Tarpaulin 150gsm – EN 13501-1 Class B White Reinforced Scaffold Sheet

On commercial sites, events and public buildings, a cover often has to meet fire regulations as well as keep the weather out. This 150gsm flame retardant tarpaulin is manufactured to EN 13501-1 class B, the European reaction-to-fire classification, so it suits scaffold enclosures, event structures and indoor or public-facing work where a standard polyethylene sheet is not acceptable. It is opaque white but lets a lot of light through, so people can work under or behind it. Its strength comes from a polypropylene rope grid sandwiched between two waterproof layers. It is supplied without eyelets: a reinforced eyelet band runs all around the edge, with guides every 10cm, so you fit eyelets exactly where your scaffold or frame needs them. It comes in 5 finished sizes from 4m x 6m to 10m x 12m.

Why it works

Flame retardant to EN 13501-1 class B

The sheet is manufactured to be flame retardant according to EN 13501-1 class B. For contractors, event organisers and facilities managers, that means a temporary cover you can put on a scaffold, stage or building without introducing an ordinary flammable plastic sheet.

Light, strong and waterproof

At 150gsm it is light to handle and rig at height. The HDPE/PP leno fabric with its polypropylene rope grid and LDPE coating gives a published tensile strength of 345 N/5cm along the length and 367 N/5cm across the width, and it stays usable from -40°C to +80°C. It is waterproof and diffuses daylight, keeping enclosed areas bright.

Fit eyelets where you need them

No eyelets are fitted. The double edged, reinforced hems carry an eyelet band all around, with 15mm eyelet guides every 10cm, rated at 410 N tear resistance per eyelet. Fit eyelets to match your scaffold tube spacing or frame, or use clip-on clamps along the band.

Choosing the right option

These are finished sizes, accurate to within 2%, so choose the size you need to cover and allow for your fixing points. 4m x 6m suits a single scaffold bay, a stage wing or a vehicle. 6m x 8m and 6m x 10m enclose larger scaffold runs and event structures, and 8m x 10m and 10m x 12m cover whole elevations and work areas. Order eyelets and a fitting tool if you need fixed eyelets, or use clip-on clamps. Always check the fire classification your site or venue requires. If fire rating is not needed and you want a heavier sheet, choose our 220gsm premium white version.

Installation, use and care

Plan your fixing points, fit eyelets at the guide marks on the reinforced band or use clip-on clamps, and tie to the scaffold or frame with ties, bungees or rope, spreading the load across all points. Tension the sheet so it sheds rain and does not flap, and check fixings after strong winds. Clean with water and dry before folding.
